CSPD EXPLORER POST 116

The Colorado Springs Police Explorer Program is designed for young men and women between the ages of 14.5 and 21 years old. This program allows young teens who live in or near the city of Colorado Springs to become informed and involved in law enforcement, while actively becoming part of their community. This allows teens to further their knowledge and understanding of the criminal justice system through training, and to provide an insight into all phases of police work as a possible future profession. It will also help foster a better understanding between the Police Department and the youth of our city.

It is the goal of the Colorado Springs Police Explorers to provide a program that will allow members to build character thru team work, commitment, leadership skills and ethics.  To achieve this goal the post participates in a variety of activities that involve community service and personal development.  The Post plans activities in six developmental areas:
1.  CAREER:  Investigate career opportunities in Law Enforcement.
2.  SERVICE:  Participation in community service projects.
3.  LEADERSHIP:  Youth members plan, organize, and lead activities.
4.  FITNESS:  Career related physical fitness training and testing.
5.  SOCIAL:  Interact with other Explorer Posts at regional conferences.
